Thanksgiving Activities

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so I wanted to share with you one of my favorite activities I enjoy doing with my kiddos.  It's called The Cost of Thanksgiving and students use newspaper ads to help them determine the cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  The worksheet can be downloaded here, and I usually pick up a bunch of advertisements from either my newspaper or local grocery stores. 

Just a tip: this activity involves a lot addition with money and decimals.  Younger grades may need a calculator.
